Don't worry I'm not giving up oil painting! I'm just testing this out as a tool for making my oil paintings, it could be very useful for designing paintings and such. No offense but I really don't see digital realism as very promising. Traditional oil painting is vastly better, unless of course you lack the skills, then digital easier. I want a tablet now This is a good tool!
(1 hour, no reference used, thats why it looks so fake, haha)
you're right, even though I have a tablet my self lol. I still think drawing by pencil, graphite, painting oil, and such still has its differences with digital stuff
Yeah there really is a difference between traditional and digital art. Traditional just has a much deeper look than digital somehow, even the good digitals. Much more satisfying

I think the reason why traditional realism is deeper than digital is because you can see it from any angle you want and experience more of the close up texture and detail. It's more in person to see a realistic painting right in front of you than to see it through a screen.
Despite that, this still looks semi-realistic. It could pass for a manga cover. : D You got talent for being able to do with without any refs.
I agree I was only practicing using painter, I've only used it about 3 times ever... I need a tablet This was just random if I had refs it would be much better haha
